Preface:
The Sura of Yaseen has long been regarded by many of us as a special Sura to recite because it contains some sort of protection against the enemies of Islam as well as some shields to defense ourselves from the evil attacks by those friends of Satan. Besides the protection, this Sura also contain some special and powerful weapons which we can use to secure ourselves when in trouble.
One of such weapons is those verses which were revealed during the period of tthe Holy Prophet hijrah (migration) from Mecca to Medina. "And We have set before them a barrier and behind them a barrier, and We covered them over so that they see not." (Verse 9). Some other verses to ponder include: "We sent not down upon his people any armies from heaven, nor were We (in need) to send (any such army)" (Verse 28) "It was nothing but one terrible cry, and behold - they were (like ashes) extinct. (Verse 29) "His Command, when He intends anything, is only that He says to it, "Be' then (and there) it is - (Kun Fayakun)" - Verse 82. About this dua This dua was discovered while doing some housekeeping within my house. Its condition suggested that it has some sort of being a regular visitor to an abandoned religious class nearby some time ago. I am being foretold by my ancestors that a famous ulama used to be teaching there for quite some time. The class was no longer there today as the village has undergone some developments and was being transformed into a modern township. The greediness of our corrupted rulers has swept away all the potential land there for new structures and a religious class is of no exception. Looking at this scanned version of the dua, you might be surprised how it managed to survive from being buried under the ground or dissappeared as ashes. We are very fortunate, we have something to inherit from the old class, and it happens to be a dua with some Sura Yaseen elements in it. I am putting this finding in the Internet with the purpose of distributing my findings as well as to disseminate the knowledge. It is hoped that someone who is more knowledgable out there will come up with some interesting comment on this dua. You might wanna ask - Why distribute a dua? Its a good question anyway. We have seen this internet world has been used for distributing many kinds of things, regardless of whether they are bad for mankind. We are being fed with a mixture of new stuff and information but some of them are just simply impraticable and useless. We are being rained by shouts of high rise buildings in our place while at the same time our moral and spiritual values are being thrown deep underneath the ground. The Past and Presence Values The presence and teachings of a few pious and learned servants of God in our country is one of the greatest asset to our lives, but unfortunately we tend to forget these people, and keep ourself busy with the other side of this life. Most people seems to be interested in things which can provide them some worldly gain, and for that reason some are charging high fees even for a simple book of duas and Islamic teachings. It is very sad indeed that while the bad things in this world is free, the good things should cost us some some money! Instead of reviving the old teachings of the past, the people has sought for new adventure in this life. The media has been keeping us busy with the latest top song hits for no useful reasons but to increase their popularity and someone else worldly gains. As time passes by, the future generation can memorise the lyrics of those fancy love songs but they could not even memorise the powerful verse of ayatul Kursy. The end result is very sad indeed - our youths become lost in the sea of mischief and further dragged away from the truth and piety, as their love heroes inject their minds into the unexist fantasy. They have become the servants of their heroes and mingled with their creations all day and night . The real food for our spiritual life The faculties of learning and the the power of comprehension bestowed by the Almighty God is no longer used to appreciate His Signs, but instead they have been poisoned by those evil 'preachers' in our radio and tv all day long. Instead of reciting verses to repel the Satan, they are shouting and calling the satan to come into their homes. The Quran, as well as the dua which we inherited from our beloved Prophet (pbuhahf) become decorations which remain unused and unexplored. We have ignored our shield and protection for too long already. As long as we do not use and extract those ailments and protection embeeded in the Quran and in the dua, we will remain vulnerable. It is just a matter of time before the real evil strike us and we will become helpless and killed on the spot easily! The presence of prayers in Islam such as solat, duas, dzikr, and wird are meant to provide the necessary repair, enhancement and protection for our faith in God and repel the evil temptations in this life. Combine this with a continuos feed of some Islamic lessons and knowledge, we shall be save from those poisonous arrows in this life. Power of Sura Yaseen Sura Yaseen is the heart of the Quran. It has been unanimously accepted by all schools of thought that this Sura is very effective to be recited to invoke the Mercy of God. Yaseen is also one of the names of the Holy Prophet (pbuhahf).
